From Highway 101 along the California coast between Pismo Beach and Santa Maria, take the W. Branch St. exit in Asrroyo Grande, heading east.

After about a mile turn right onto Huasana Road. Continue straight at mile 2.5 onto Lopez Drive as Huasana Road veers to the right. Signs mark the way to to Lopez Lake. Continue another 5.5 miles to where the road crosses the dam at Lopez Lake and follow the road around the shoreline for several miles to the entrance station for Lopez Lake Recreation Area.

From San Luis Obispo take Orcutt Road southeast to intersect Lopez Drive.
