Fishing at Silverwood Lake
Silverwood Lake has rainbow trout, largemouth bass, striper bass, crappie, bluegill, and channel catfish. The lake is best known for producing the California State record striped bass. Fishing is allowed from the marina dock for a $3 fee. 5 MPH speed limits on most of the best fishing areas of the lake keep water skiers at a distance.
Where to Fish on Silverwood Lake
The marina dock is a great place to fish, especially early in the day before boaters take over. Other popular spots on the lake include many of the coves where there is a 5 MPH speed limit. These include Chamise Cove, Quiet Cove, and Quarry Cove.
At the south end of the lake the entire area is limited to 5 MPH. No power boats are allowed in the tips of the two arms - Cleghorn and Miller Canyon, but the fishing there is excellent. Trollers like to work the main channel and the area around the dam.
