Way-of-the-Mono
Interpretive Trail

This half mile long loop trail explains about the Mono Indians who once lived in the area. The trail begins at the Little Denver Church Day Use Area. Along the way stop at the vista point for a wonderful view of mountains and lake.

Angel Falls and
Devils Slide Falls Trail

Park at the Falls Day Use Area parking lot on North Shore Road, or for a slightly shorter hike use the Willow Creek parking area on Road 274. The two-mile hike leads up Willow Creek past first Angel Falls and then Devils Slide Falls. The trail climbs 800 feet.

Goat Mountain and
Spring Cove Trails

A 4-mile trail leads from the Forks Campground to the fire lookout tower at the summit of Goat Mountain. Panoramic views of the lake and surrounding area make the hike worthwhile. The trails climbs about 1,100 feet.

A similar trail leaves from Spring Cove Campground and climbs to intersect the Forks Campground trail after about a mile and a third. Water is not available along either route.

Bass Lake Dam

A short hike from either of the Boat Launch Ramps at the south end of the lake will lead you to the dam.

Camping among the Pines at Bass Lake

Bass Lake is owned by the Pacific Gas and Electric Company, but the much of the surrounding land is part of the Sierra National Forest. A number of well maintained and popular Forest Service Campgrounds are located along the southwestern shore of the lake.

Summer Interpretive Programs are offered at the lake. Also, Bass Lake is a great place for day hikes. Nearby are the Way of the Mono Interpretative Trail, along with Willow Creek , Goat Mountain and Spring Cove trails.

Bass Lake holds an annual 4th of July Fireworks show and several arts and crafts shows. The Smokey Bear 10k and 2 Miles Fun Run and Walk is usually held in late September.
