Lake Tahoe Boat Inspections Overview
- Inspections are mandatory for all watercraft being launched into Lake Tahoe.
- Inspections are held at roadside stations only in the summer; during winter months until April 30 inspections
are held at public launch ramps.
- Fees for inspection can only be paid by Visa or Mastercard.
- Inspections are needed to keep invasive species such as Zebra and Quagga mussels out of Lake Tahoe.

- Clean, Drain and Dry your watercraft. Drain your bilge, ballast tanks, live wells and any storage compartments. If you have an outdrive, lower the outdrive on the engine to release any residual water.
