Florence Lake Area Camping
Florence Lake is adjacent to the John Muir Wilderness and is surrounded by the Sierra National Forest. The closest campground to Florence Lake is Jackass Meadow Campground, a mile by road from the lake. A number of other campgrounds are scattered around the region.
Most of the Sierra National Forest is open to Dispersed Camping. Fire Permits are required for building campfires or using a camp stove outside established campgrounds. Wilderness Permits are required for overnight trips into the John Muir Wildernesses.
A nice picnic area is located on the shore of Florence Lake, adjacent to the store and the main parking lot.
