Florence Lake Camping

Florence Lake is adjacent to the John Muir Wilderness and is surrounded by the Sierra National Forest. The closest campground to Florence Lake is Jackass Meadow Campground, a mile by road from the lake. A number of other campgrounds are scattered around the region.

Most of the Sierra National Forest is open to Dispersed Camping. Fire Permits are required for building campfires or using a camp stove outside established campgrounds. Wilderness Permits are required for overnight trips into the John Muir Wildernesses.

A nice picnic area is located on the shore of Florence Lake, adjacent to the store and the main parking lot.
